Swedish language exams: 

  • SWEDEX – an internationally viable Swedish language exam (designed by Folkuniversitetet). Anyone whose mother tongue is not Swedish may take the exam, which relates to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the European Council’s level scale for language learning. It is possible to take the exam at three levels: A2, B1 and B2, and it tests your proficiency of speaking, reading, listening and writing. Swedex is approved by the Swedish Institute and can be taken irrespective of how you have learned Swedish. Examination centres can be found here.
  • Tisus (Test in Swedish for University Studies) – a test on level C1 on the Common European Framework of reference for Languages. Tisus is recognized by all the universities in Sweden as a statement of eligibility regarding Swedish language proficiency. The examination is designed according to needs expressed by students and university teachers. There are three components; reading, writing and speaking.
